Updated Customs Requirements Notice - ICS2 EU Safety and Security Requirements for GB to EU Road.
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to draw your attention to an important regulatory change that will impact all movement of goods from Great Britain to the European Union by road transport.
The EU’s new Import Control System 2 (ICS2) is already now operational and will become mandatory for all such shipments from January 1st 2026. After this date any goods without an ICS2 software filing will not be allowed to enter the EU.

ICS2 is the EU's enhanced Safety and Security (S&S) initiative — a key component of border protection for goods entering the EU. It requires detailed shipment data to be submitted in advance of the goods departure from GB to EU Customs to facilitate pre-arrival Safety and Security risk analysis.
We would like to assure all our valued customers that Ace Express is fully prepared for this change.

- There is no additional information we require from you. We will extract the mandatory information from your export commercial invoices that you already provide to us.
- Our customs team is already experienced in executing Safety & Security declarations to GB,
- To ensure full S&S compliance on your behalf Ace Express has worked extensively with Irish Customs to further enhance our customs software to file your ICS2 declarations.
As a direct result of this new mandatory EU regulation, there will be an additional Safety and Security charge of €15.00 applicable per shipment to all imports to the EU from 1st January 2026 onwards.
We anticipate a seamless transition to the new EU Safety and Security system and are committed to maintaining your supply chains smoothly and complying with regulations.
