Service Update: Important Information About the UK to Ireland and VV Route
Dear Customer,
We wanted to take a moment to update you on the latest developments regarding shipments between Ireland and the UK and V.V.
HOLYHEAD PORT
We’re pleased to inform you that Holyhead Port has announced that Terminal 5 is on track to reopen as scheduled on January 16, 2025. Ferry operators have made some adjustments to their schedules, allowing for up to eight daily sailings on the Dublin-Holyhead route. This means that we won’t see a decrease in the usual capacity. Once Terminal 5 is back up and running, the focus will shift to getting Terminal 3 operational again.
Please be aware that while operations resume at Holyhead, all hauliers will be making efforts to return to this port. That said, it might take some time for everything to settle into a smooth routine.
CURRENT FREIGHT IN TRANSIT
Currently, we’re experiencing some delays with freight and a shortage of trailers, as hauliers are operating at only 40-60% capacity. Specifically, hauliers are experiencing an extra four hours for crossings to and from Liverpool, while those using Rosslare need to factor in an additional 2.5 hours of driving time. Additionally, we are seeing extended transit times as hauliers endeavour secure slots at alternative ports.
