Expert advice for Irish Exporters from Eamon Galavan.
There’s never been a better time for Irish companies to grow their international exports, so we asked our Head of Sales Eamon Galavan to share some top tips on how our customers can maximise export opportunities and connect with new customers, suppliers and partners in Europe, the UK and Internationally.
Tell us a little bit about your experience working with Irish exporters?
Our focus as a business is to help Irish Companies grow through exports. The delivery of an export shipment is the final stage of what can be a long process, a process which could have been in development for months to years from the initial opportunity. This careful planning process is a very important step to ensure a streamlined supply chain and successful business growth. Can you give us some examples of how you have helped export customers?
Brexit created real challenges for exporters. The changing requirements from free circulation to customs restrictions came into effect overnight for goods to the UK. Prior to this, the team had been advising customers on the changing requirements, and providing recommendations on what actions they needed to take. We provided Brexit consultancy via meetings, info emails, booklets, and online resources. We are still offering our clients ongoing customs advice and support, such as the new CDS system due to go live for imports into UK.
What are the current opportunities exporters should be aware of?
There are always opportunities for willing companies. Supply challenges globally have created opportunities for the manufacturing sector. Availability of product is key, and if companies can supply consistently, then doors are being opened for new customer opportunities. These customers can also be less price sensitive, as competition can be reduced. If nurtured these new relationships can lead to significant growth in the future.
How can you and Team Ace help them to maximize these opportunities?

Do you have any advice for exporters who want to grow their UK & European business?
Yes, make connections, go to trade shows, speak to partners and suppliers. At many EU shows we have seen sections for Irish suppliers to showcase their capability. Partners like Enterprise Ireland offer great support, running regular trade missions.
