Commercial invoices: get it right first time
Did you know that a correctly completed commercial invoice helps prevent customs delays, avoids potential additional charges and reduces the possibility of returned shipments.
Before your goods travel, remember the Five Cs:
- Companies: Full seller and buyer details, including registration, VAT and EORI numbers
- Cargo: Clear goods description, country of origin, commodity/tariff code and quantity
- Calculations: Unit price, total value, currency and gross weight
- Conditions: Shipping terms (Incoterms) and freight cost
- Confirmation: Invoice number, invoice date, signature and date
